Ok, I figured out that my Orange Peeling problem was due to the pressure (too low). So I fixed that problem, and now it is shooting clearcoat like it should, however another problem has started. Once I shoot the clearcoat, these little specs are appearing in the clearcoat. It isn't dust falling from the ceiling or anything like that, I think it is coming from the gun or from the mixture of clearcoat. My paint gun is clean, so it isn't like I am getting dust, or other little things from that. I just think it is some type of adjustment for the correct atomization, and I don't know how to fix it. Please help. Thanks.

Is your problem all over or just the top surfaces? If just top surfaces then it's probably solvent pop, if all over it's probably old hardener, when hardener gets too old it mixes well but when sprayed it looks like "grit" in the clear

Thanks for the comment Rod. I looked at that info, and that looks like what is happening to my clearcoat, that popping seems to be it. So now I guess I need to figure out how to fix that problem. I assume I need to make some adjustments with my paint gun. I am not sure.

Now I have another problem. When I shoot the clearcoat it looks great, but I am getting little specs of something in the clearcoat finish while I am shooting the clear. It isn't dust, like from the ceiling, it is happening right when I shoot the clear. I don't know what it might be. My paint gun is clean, I think it might still be my gun setup and the correct atomization process. What do you think? Thanks.

Hi Tanner,

I suppose any dirt could be coming from your hose, especially if if it's an old one. I assume you have considered the air supply to your compressor and the condition of the compressor intake filter and discarded that as a possible source of dust or dirt. If it's not actual dirt, I suppose it could be solvent pop. Check the link for a picture and possible causes. If you are sure it isn't dust from the surrounding atmosphere, I haven't any other suggestions. I doubt that it's an atomization issue.

Are you sure your air source isn't contaminated? Do you have inline filters installed? Did you drain the compressor tank to remove moisture before you started spraying? How old's your compressor tank? Might be rust flakes if you don't have filters installed..... .filters might be dirty.....could possibly be moisture in your air supply..... ...Just a few guesses..... let us know what you find out!
