Any suggestions on a Brand of Spray Paint for repainting in Massey Ferguson Industrial Yellow. I am repaintng in pieces and want to use spray cans since I am not painting everything at once. Also, I will be painting over primed metal and old paint. The exposed metal was rusted with paint peeling off. I used a wire brush on a grinder to clean it up. And will use "Extend" Rust Treatment from NAPA to prep those areas. I do have a compressor and spray gun but I figure I will acutally save time using spray cans vs. the prep. and cleaning of the spray gun. What are y'alls ideas. This will be my first try at this so any advice is appreciated.

Thanks Davis.

The more I read from you guys the more I believe I will have to bite the bullet and learn how to use that spray gun. I looked at the NAPA brand Industrial Yellow today for $32.00 a gallon. That dosen't sound bad compared to some others I've heard of. Thanks for the opinions.

Davis, you get what you pay for. Spray cans are not a long term solution. I just did a small ALLIS. What i did was buy a good quality red oxide primer and brush on each piece as i completed it. I reassembled the pieces and then had primer between the "joints". Few months later, after getting everything primed and rebuilt, i sprayed with my compressor, a good quality automotive paint. Had to sand the primer to get the brush marks out, but that wasnt bad. I took the fenders and hood off to spary them seperate. Everything i had bolted to gether had primer between the bolts, etc.

The spray can paint I got from the MF dealer was crap, it rubbed off the loader controls the first day and I had sand blasted and primed before painting, I dont know much about paint but from what I have learned from Rod NH on this board is prep is almost everything and the paint must be hard enough when dry to withstand the use. I would be surprised to find that in a spray can but what do I know good luck. Tim
