anyone impressed with the saturday pull, i thought the friday one went ok, no real problems, but the saturday pull, there were people bouncing, swinging the front ends, and rocking off wheelie bars to get the load started, and them all were (event though its dumb) rules. why don't they come up with a better system. any thoughts?

It was way cool! How can you not be impressed, there is alot more to the driving aspect of this kind of pullin than the common puller would expect. Driving has alot to do with your success.

i love cement pulling, i just didn't like the way the pull was handled, it seemed unorganized and rules were broke all day with some people getting away with it and some people not.

I was there for both days, and I think the pull went well. I would like to hear who was getting away with what? Let's hear some for instances!

I pulled both days & didn't think there was a great difference rule enforcement. The Kenny's do a great job with this pull & treat everyone fairly. Biggest crowds I have ever seen at a cement pull, so it is obviously a good show. I am not a Shepherd local, but feel very welcome. Thank you Kenny family.

I am a shepherd / Mt Pleasant local and if you look around Shepherd you will see this is a town steeped in tradition and accept for the one big out of place blunder ( MC Donalds) it probably will remain this way. The pullin' is no different. Right , wrong or otherwise it's the way it is. Lots of local families pullin and watchin'. Good clean fun and I've never seen any loud drunks or fighting. Get out of line there and you will be drinking out of the near by creek real quick. These guys know how to handle a tractor and although it may look reckless to some when they make them dance , these guys know what they are doing. 80% of them were/are local farm boys and probably did things with these ole tractors on the farm that would make anyone cringe. Not just the Kenny family , all the locals will make you feel at home at this pull.

One thing to keep in mind about the difference from Friday to Saturday was the weather. Friday was warmer and SUNNIER. That makes a huge difference in traction. If nothing changes other than if it is sunny or cloudy, you would be surprised at the difference in the amount of traction. So that might explain why the differnt driving styles (although sometimes not intended).

Those are the rules that have been the same for as long as I can remember, and they keep attracting new pullers every year. I doubt you will get the rules changed, and if you did it might be at the expense of yourself taking over control of the pull and also running it.
