There aren't any "clubs" around here, we just pull with several independent fairs, ....days, that type of thing with each having their own rules which makes it kind of interesting. What kind of hp are you estimating? What rpm's do you engage clutch? The 20-27mph, was that wheel speed or sled ground speed? I'm using the same M transmission, have a Ford diesel ton pickup clutch which was same diameter of origional flywheel. My engine is pretty much stock, bigger carb, cam, electronic ign, about 400 hp. Mine too weighs under 5000#, I've pulled as high as 7000#, mostly 5500, 6500#. Sled has clocked me at 16mph which is about as thrilling as I want to get. It made more sense to me to spend a fraction of the cost of a hot "stock appearing" engine on my whole tractor. It sure is fun to pull. I've only pulled against a couple of other "hybreds" before. I'm running into a lot of the old "if you can't beat them, only let them pull for exhibition".
