Hello everyone. I am in the process of building a pretty serious puller with my 1949 John Deere A. I am in search of a pair of 9 Bolt Hubs to be used with Pressed Steel Wheels. If anyone could direct me on a good place to start looking it would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks!

Kyle

How much are you looking to get out of the adapters?

Thanks for the relies everyone. I honestly can't decide whether I want to weld the 9 bolt hubs to the axle then cut the axle off flush, or.... whether to try and find original ones, or make adapters to use the ones that are on the tractor now with the cast center wheels.

When I'm said and done... this 49A is going to be a pretty serious puller wearing some 18.4 x 38's on pressed steel.
So.... maybe some advice one what you all think would be best.

Thanks!

Kyle

Kyle, I made a set of adaptors about 13 years ago and have had no problems with them. When I made them it was lighter to leave the old 6 bolt hub on and put the adaptor on than put on the john deere 9 bolt hub on, also alot cheaper.I have a extra set of adaptors out in the shed if you are interested, I would like $140.00 for the set. Let me know if I can help.

Are you wanting the origional John Deere hubs, or weld on hubs? Makes a big difference on where to look. For weld on hubs, try Murphy's Motor Service as stated below (www.murphysmotorservice.com). For the John Deere hubs they should be widely available at salvage yards, at least for 15 spline axles. Try googling for tractor salvage yards or www.atis.net which is a salvage yard listing to find one in your area. Good hunting!! Mike
