Did any of you see the * WHIMPY MASSEY * at DENTON .Rumor has it that the MASSEY choked and finished dead last.I guess we now know why *HIS RULES* read 3 rd. gear max, in super class. At least, I'm told, he didn't ride around with the throttle wide open after that display of power.

YOU CAN KICK THE OLD MASSEY ALL YOU WANT TO, BUT IT IS STILL AN AWFULLY NICE TRACTOR. THE MASSEY ALMOST MADE ME JEALOUS THOUGH. MY GRAND SON LEARNED TO SAY MASSEY ALMOST BEFORE HE DID PA PA . I GOT AN OLD TRACTOR POWERED BY ONE OF THEM OLD NOISEY DETROITS MYSELF . GONNA HAVE IT RUNNING SOME DAY AND I SURE HOPE IT SOUNDS AS GOOD AS THE MASSEY. Is the Oliver with side shields called red eye special? I think she pulls with OTTPA regularly so you KNOW they check RPM's on ALL club members right? I've only seen them check non OTTPA members.

They checked all those detroits at denton , they were in the 8200 super, I watched and even questioned when I thought someone had slipped by them, I pull 7200 super and down and if I want my rpm's checked I ask before I ever pull and make sure there right but at 2,200 you can pretty much here the difference, and some people complain about the scales moving(even myself) but the fact is they move for everybody,by the way I am not a member of any pulling assoc.I pull with who ever is having a pull closest, between OTTPA an CATPA, and there rules are the same,Just what I've witnessed.LW

I will have to agree with Farmall Black about only checking non-members RPM's because I saw Jim Barrier (who is on the Board with OTTPA) DQ his wife for being 5RPM's over.

THATS BULL THEY CHECK THREE CLAASSES AT EACH PULL. ALL TRACTORS ITHAT CLASS OPEN BOTH EYES NEXT TIME, BUT I ADMIT THAT IF YOU DON'T PULL WITH OTTPA REGULARLY THEY SHOULD TELL YOU AT DRIVERS MEETING THAT THERE IS NO OLLANCE OVER STOCK AND 2500RPM ON SUPER AND 5MPG

Was there at Denton and saw the MIGHTY MASSEY and it was awesome...As always " A show stealer " ...by the way, i do not believe that Mr. Plyler was the driver of the Massey.....Don't think there was any wounds to lick, not as far as the people i talked to seen....nor by what i saw..... If your hitch is 'legal' before pulling, why wouldn't it be 'legal' after pulling? Why would anyone have to lick their wounds after beating the Oliver "won't show what's under the hood" tractor?

As far as the hitch goes, well air expands under heat and can make a tractor tire taller, and raise the hitch. Some clubs never check the hitch when you cross the scales. OTTPA does. Regarding the Oliver with sideshields, I figure it's got a 3 cyl supercharged diesel. I'm sure the fuel and rpms are turned up and the blower overdriven. What do you think it has?

detroits are 2cycle and have to have the supercharger to run no turbo on any of the detroits pullin super in N.C.

In all fairness the Massey was dqed in his first pull for a high hitch. He did get beat by several tractors though including 1 poppin john. In the second class he beat everybody including the Oliver with the sideshields.

i have always been an IH man but there is a soft spot for a classic massey with a continital engine chuggin away in a field or a track. i welcome them becasue no one hardly has any around here to pull in east central missouri. but like the sayin goes when it comes down to it "if its not red, leave it in the shed"
