You had a 6030 GIVEN to you? Did you just fall off the lucky tree or what, lol? I don't know of any pics, but I might be able to give you a few tips on the beast. First of all, unless you plan to put it on a serious diet, I hope you have a big truck and trailer to haul it on, and the local pulls have heavy classes, because 6030s are tanks. My owner's manual says weight of a standard tractor with average field equipment to be 15,800 and a row-crop to be 14,680. That's shipping weight - with very little fuel, etc. If your tractor is bareback, with no hitch, it should be considerably lighter. I've seen a 6030 open-station with a narrow front on it. I don't know what parts he used, but it sure did look sweet. A JD 619 engine is pretty easy to swap for the 531 that's in your tractor now. If you're tractor isn't intercooled (they were available both ways), you might consider installing one, as it will give you some more performance potential. Your tractor is rated 175 hp from the factory, but most will turn 225 or more. I've seen 619s in choppers put out in excess of 375 hp, so there is serious potential in an engine swap. Your 531 should be good for 300 hp or so in stock form, providing it's in good shape and you don't abuse it. The trans and rear end are built hell-for-stout, so if everything is in good shape, I don't think you need to worry about that end. The 531 and 619 are good engines, but you'll want to maintain it well, as far as oil changes and whatnot, as parts for those beasts get expensive in a hurry.
