I ama bout to get rid of my 1953 John Deere G. Yes, it is a 1953... one of the very later models. The G's scerial number is 64,000 something... but it is FOR SURE a 1953. Its has a nice set of 18.4x34 on a widend rim. It has The newer hubs on the axcels. The G was restored this year. The decals are form Jordes. Its is board 45 over with M and W aluminum pistons in it. The front tires are in good shape. It runs great. Very solid. The cranks shaft has been inspected. No leaks... no cracks. Its also has a rebuilt dennys 51 carb on it that I am willing to seperate if anybody is interested.

I am going to trade it to a collector for his 1938 John Deere G, that has been worked over a little more then this one. He is going to give me 25000 for it... is this a fair price!?!?

They didn't make very many 53 G's. Only from serial number 63138 to 64530, last built Feb 19th 1953. Gasoline 70's were built from March 2th 1953 and all fuel production on June 10th 1953. There was at least two gasoline only G's built with only one hole punched in the hood for fuel. I would keep it rather than selling. Make certain you don't have the last one either.

I think you guys may have misunderstood him, he said "TRADE HIS G FOR A 38 G AND HE'S GETTING $2500". Which I think sounds like a pretty darn good deal. Yours alone in the ruff "if it was" is worth $2500 and your getting his - as long as thats what you want its well worth it.

Let me clear this up.

He is saying my G is worth 2500. That means...

My G + $5000 = His G

Sounds like he is trying to bend you over to me. Keep an eye on the classifieds on this site. I'm pretty sure there have been some decent unstyled "G"s on there for less than $5000. If you can find one for $5000, you can keep yours to boot. Unless his tractor is a low-radiator with the original radiator or something else real special, I believe I would pass on it. My two cents.

Your G should be worth a heck of a lot more than 2500 bucks. It would take twice that much to get my 53 G.I sold a 52 G two years ago here in west Tn for 4500 restored and the man was vere happy to get it at that and loves it.Later,Jack.

No, I'd say he's under shooting you by about $1000 to $1500. I've been looking for a 51' G and and most guys want $2500 to $3000 for a nicer unrestored one. I personally like to find complete tractors, stuck, junk tires needing total rebuild, and are very cheap.

I have a G for sale at the time. One like you just decribed. All there, not stuck.... running. But needs cosmetic work. It will need a new crank shaft in time... and I have one for it. It has a Dennys rebuilt carb.... and a 3 point with power trol. Its a good G... if you in the market for one. let me know. By the way it is a '52
