Guys, Went to the NY State Championships at Junius Ponds, Great time, lotsa tractors, good competition, good guys, but! We showed up with the Super C in tow and found that they only had classes of 3000, 5000, and 7000 (thank god we didn't waste time and money hauling the JD 70 up!) We borrowed some weights, got her up to 4700lbs and managed a 3rd, so it was fun, but! We love original old tractors (don't get offended if you pull div 2,3,or4), sure we could hop up the Super H or Super M, but that's not our bag. My question is this: at most of the pulls we attend, the majority of tractors there are Div. 1, put the higher divisions take precedence; same 4 or five guys adding weights and pulling every class from 3000 to 7000, bigger trophies, money, or trophies when we get ribbons, and lots more classes at the prestige pulls. Throughout the day we heard comments in the stands like "yeah, that's the same as the M we used to bail hay with, pulling against an A like our neighbors used" from people watching the division 1 pulls, and comments like "driving that tractor is like riding a brahma bull as they watched the Div 4 tractors lurch around trying to get hooked. Is our money less green? Whats up? Pete
