What material is the track made of & how well packed/smoothed is it between pulls? If clay the tall narrow tire maybe better & if limestone screenings the wider/shorter tire may float better. Tire air pressure is a major factor as well. On occassion a rough, cracked old set of 45 degree tires even with torn/missing lugs wins?

most of the tracks are gravel. or soft sponge like dirt. only a couple of clay.

36'S ARE A NO BRAINER UNLESS YOU JUST DON'T HAVE THE POWER...28'S ARE TOO HARD TO KEEP DRAWBAR HEIGHT AND ARE SPIN OUT QUEENS IN MY EXPERIENCE...MARK

have you seen any f-20's pulling? we have a 3 mph speed limit. how much more power does it take? A Z moline pulled in the class one heavier and only went 20 ft. I believe the sled we use is to heavy for the light tractors. but i am a rookie

I have seen f20's pull quite often.
Some with 28" tires smoe with 36" tires.
somedays the 28's out pull the 36's somedays
they don't. The 36" will make your f20 go
down the track faster, I don't know if it
will be over 3mph.

A 11.6-36 will give you
a contact area of 115 sq. inches.A 14.9-28
will give you 170 sq. inches. Going by those numers I would go with the 28" since
you will have more tire in contact with the
track. Those numbers came from the Firestone
website here is the address. Link
