for all practical purposes which is better? i knowthe 14.9s are bigger but I feel the 15.5s may have an advantagebecause of a shorter stiffer sidewall > also do both have the same wheel width rating( 15.5x38 on a 14" rim.) thanks___Paul

With my stock worn out MM U I still could compete fairly well with the shorter 15.5 because I was a little shy for power. Better gearing. We'll see what 75 hp does with them now. I might switch who knows. My two cents.

Its a good way to change the gearing in your tractor, if you can't quite pull 2nd gear with 14.9s it my haul it on the shorter 15.5s. Just my two cents keepon pulling.

I run a set of 15.5x38 on a John Deere "B" that are sharpened and am very compeitive. It all depends on the way that they are cut. My personal opion you got to have the right tire to match the track. can't really say which is better they are a lot of the same to me.
