I'm trying to find out what the load set screws on my 60 should be at for max power. Also, does anyone know what weight of oil I should put in the cleaner, I put 15w-40 plus 50 in it right now, and seems to be getting to much fuel and the plugs become foul after a couple hours of use.

Install electronic ignition.I pull an A John Deere and use to foul a plug ever 3rd or 4th pull. Put in electronic ignition and a 40,000 volt coil from [Roberts Carb ] and new plugs gaped at .050 and pulled 30 pulls last year and never had the plugs out.

The thicker the aircleaner oil the more restriction, power drop and richer mixture. 0W-30 works well. Keep the idle screws in as far as possible and still idle without missing or bogging when throttle is applied. Keep the temp at least 180F even for pulling. The air-fuel mixture doesn't stay suspended and burn in a cold engine.

I just use straight 30 weight in the breather, being sure to not overfill it, just to the line or a 1/4" below. I run AC plugs , the number is a C 87, this works good for me, if you idle your 60 low rpm alot , they do have a tendency to want to foul plugs, I would lean the idle mixture screws some to avoid alot of black smoke at a low idle, 300 to 400 rpm, hope this helps, what year is your 60?

I have quite the setup on my 2 cylinder, I'm running a 60 block in a model A carcass. She seems to run good when you get the r's up but will not idle low. Right now she smokes a little black, but nothing that seems out of the oridinary. Do you want it to run a little rich when pulling? Can anyone give me some input on adjusting the settings on the carb? Thanks
