19, 2003 at 06:39:13: The first thing to remember is safty first!!! Before the pull, get your hitch at maximun height/ length back according to the rules where you are pulling, get tractor running good, fresh gas helps. Practice letting out the clutch with the tractor in low (where you will be pulling in) gear several times to get the feel of the clutch. Also do this in reverse, as you will be backing up to the sled to start the pull and also at the end of pull where you will probably have dug the back tires into the ground and therefore be harder to back up also. MAKE SURE THE PERSON HOOKING YOU TO SLED AND THE GUY UNHOOKING AFTER YOU ARE DONE PULLING ARE NOT BETWEEN YOU AND SLED WHEN THE TRACTOR IS MOVING!!!!! !!!!! !! Take tractor out of gear and let out clutch and take hands off controls when hitching/unhitching! After you are hooked and guy is out of the way, take slack out of chain, wait for the flag man to give the green flag, when he gives you the ok, give tractor 1/3-1/2 throttle, let clutch out slowly and smoothly and after started give it all the throttle you've got and have fun going down track looking for the good spot to pull on. If the front end of tractor comes up more than a 10 inches off ground, get out of throttle a little and it should come back down, but be prepared for it to come back up again. Remember, SAFTY FIRST and then have fun!!!!!
