Just boring it .090 over probably gained you very little in actual horsepower, as you're only increasing displacement by a few cubes. The horsepower increase comes from higher compression (if you have aluminum high-comp pistons installed). You have to get into stroke increases and large overbores (power-blocks and the like) before you'll see a big increase in horsepower due only to an increase in displacement.

a puller; I have a 49 A that has 46 at 540 rpm it will increase to 51 as you pull it down. I am hoping that I can get this up to a steady 50 at 540 RPM. Mine is bored .125, head milled to the eye brow, intake and head cleaned up and ported a little. I am still running a mag, but plan on a Distributor as the next step. At this point in time with 13.6 / 38s I am still out of power for the most part, But ya know what I am having one heck of a good time with it.

I know it would. we have just put it together and pulled it on cement. Weighing about 5600, hooked flat across and on "decent" cement, we can spin a set of 30.5x32" tires in 2nd and not kill. we have not yet pulled on dirt with this one.

Those tires are not hooking up. A stock A can be stalled in 2nd gear pulling the 5500lb class on 15.5x38's. On a clay power track likely a stall or a least a wheely in creeper.
