hi i took the entire draw bar off of my wd and i made a d plate and bolted it right on to the adjustable part of my hitch. well when my old man saw that well he started yelling and told me i was gonna get 20 ft and the front end would come up and flip the tractor over. But some people on here tell me that they have done that and it works wel for them do i have to worry about that if my hitch is at 20 inches high i am pulling 3500 pds class thanks alot

You'll be fine, When I pull in 3500# even on the hard sticky tracks the front end barely comes up. When you start adding weight though you will need some up front, I have a rear bracket, a belly bar, and a front bracket that extends out as far as the rules allow and in 4500# I only put one weight up front and it works well. good luck.

I built my hitch to resemble a typical tow bar in reverse. I mounted it to the brackets directly under the axle in the holes nearest the front. I added an adjustable third member attached to the top of the rearend housing. Been using it for three years pulling 3700/4200. You will have to make it long enough to meet your areas rules. I'll send you a photo if you send your e-mail address. Lots of luck...I like my WD and try to keep it as stock as possible...It's more fun to beat those hot rod every now and then!

I think over time, you'll find that set up hard on the ears of the bracket. That is by no means meant to pull by. That said, the weight down it must be able to hold. I'd try to get the pull in front of the axle, and still maintain 20 inches. What ever you do, let us know what happens.
