We have a '47 A that has a clearance problem with a 9.25" stroke. We're still trying to get it to fit. How much did you cut the regulator housing down? Thanks...ToddF

I cut my housing about 2/1/2" i believe. I also had to grind the cam to about 1/2" dia. also put 4020 connecting rod ends on. and questions email me

Did you require 2.5" to clear the stroke or is that what made the baldwin filter fit for you?

Next Question: We never had this one running previously and I don't know if the oil pressure is set properly. If you shorten the regulator housing can you adjust the oil pressure relief setting through the top of the crank case? We have two other two cylinder JD's and I have never touched the relief settings on them, maybe it just is not an issue? I appreciate any advice...Thanks ToddF

you might have to move the cam. are you missing the gears in the back?

how much do you have your A stroked? We have an A with a 9" crank and it clears pretty good.

what year of A do you have? a 9" crank should go in a 6 speed 2 stick styled A, like 1941-46
