Well, I will explain it just like our trackside announcer would explain it to the audience. We do not pull distance, we have a mathmatical formula to calculate percentage. We have a digital monitor that measures how far the weight tranfer box goes up th rails, we then weigh after pulling, check weight and figure percentage. our formula is this... 83x inches pulled(how far the box went up the rails of thesled) + 3260. (weight of the box) divided by the tractor weight.. For example: a 4000 lb tractor pulls, and the box goes up the rails, and measures 100 inches. (max inches on our sled is 150 in) the formula would look like this. 83x100in+3260=11560divided by 4000lbs=289% See what I am saying? watch this. I will use a 4500 lb tractor with the same distance. and watch what happens 83x100in+3260=11560divided by4500lbs=256.88% They way we state this is the tractor that pull the sled the farthest is not nessisarily the winner. our classes are 3260-4500 4501-5500, 5500-6000lb 6001-6500, 6501-7000lb,7001-7500lb modified and farmstock classes. I hope this helps you! thats how its done! Great question! ChadS
