HI, im kinda new to the whole tractor pulling im 15 and was in my first pull the other day an now all i can think about is what we can all do to our 35 Jd A. My Question is when we took the motor appart from years of sitting the one hole has deep pits and the other side is ok and i have been lookin for info on the net of what to do to get the most power with this block i suppose one hole i will have to get sleaved, i have herd the max you can bore is .125 but i have also herd of a person going .250 and getting special pistons made or cat D 7 pistons but im not sure?. Can this be true if it is i am seriously interested in getting information about it if anyone knows anything or a website i can get info please contact me thanks.

We have a 36 A with .250 over pistons and a lot of other modifications. Putting out 85 horse. The pistons in it are from merfeild but I have .250 pistons I bought from Schooler Motorsports in a late A. Runs good too.
Both people have adds in "The Hook" magazine.

if the block has a hole completely through it...you might be able to find a styled A early 40's style and put the styled motor in it. I don't think there is enought meat to just bore it without sleeving it,a and I've heard the sleeves are a bear to hold.

Welcome to the greatest sport in the world. (My opinion HA HA) Look trough some of the past posts, lots of great info about JD tractors. I have 3 Farmall Hs, and a 58 JD 730gas that our family pulls regularly, Good luck ChadS
