I got a new schedule forthe USAP, today, They have changed the tire rules in the Super Farm Stock Class. You are now allowed to cut the back side of the bar on the tire. Just thought I would help spread the word. Chads

From an outsider looking in here is my take on it. Last winter my son and I attended all four of the USAP points pulls held in Princeton Indiana. I enjoy walking around and looking at all the different tractors and what people do to them. The first thing I noticed was allot of the tractors that I pulled against years before at Hartford Kentucky in the modified classes were pulling in this non cut tire class?? Looked like to me that most of them also had the tires altered in one way or another to make them look like they were road worn. There were some that were not and these tractors were defiantly getting screwed over by the ones that were. My experience with these so called road worn tires is that they will out pull allot of cut tires hands down. My opinion is if they are going to allow this so called road worn tire in the non cut tire class they just as well make it a cut tire class. I think what drives allot of these (smaller tractors) with these cheater tires on them to the non cut tire class is that they do not want to pull the next division where you have to run against cut 18.4 tires and 4mph. There needs to be lighter modified classes with a 15.5 tire limit and a "true non-cut tire stock class" which includes no so called road worn tires. Just this Iowa boys opinion looking in from the outside. Dave Wickman

we have some road worn tires that would beat ANY cut tires on a slow tractor

Some how that rule got voted in our club.. it has been a big issue this year.. and will probably be changed after this year.. Can you cut the lugs all the way up to the front?? or just up to it?? cut the hieght down even??? All seemed to be an issue... You just have to make sure it is explained clearly, and it will be more understood.. Where you will run into trouble is when you go places and people that don't normally pull with the USAP will not have known about the rule change... Like any other rule change.. it will take a while before anyone is used to the change.. and then it won't be an issue..
Last yr at Cleveland, MS (the only USAP pull we attend) they had all the stroked tractors in the Open class.. Our JD's didn't fair so well.. In the yrs past we had been in the Combined classes.. One of my non stroked tractor was putt in the Stock class.. usually in the combined class.. (Took first in the 6500) but not really where I thought the tractor should have been.. No complaints.. next yr we will know different... JDGnut

Just the top of the bar, I would imagine you could shorten the lug down in height.

just wondering what the consensus of other superfarm pullers is about this new rule. i think it stinks.... what good and logical reason is there to need to tamper with tires in an uncut tire class??!! there are aready more tractors in these classes than any other. who was this rule changed for??? the guys who are already cheating with tampered tires or some high HP tractors that dont want to compete with the cut tires any longer?? what happened to the "get back to stock" theme that was preached at the usap pulls drivers meetings i was at this last spring?? someone please show me the light , because i'm surely in the dark on this new "superfarm" rule..... ....thank you in advance

It is my understanding that tractors having tires with visible grind marks will be dqed.

Grind marks on the leading edge of the bar. Backs can be shaped in any way. Chads

I use a belt sander, no swirls, no grinder marks, just a nice clean, slightly anged cut. Chads

check the news on the usapuller.com web site, i think the rule was changed so guys can take 2 unmatched tread wears and shape the back only to make them match. tires are getting really expensive for a matching set, maybe i can take mine now and make them into a good set. i saw a guy chain his tractor down and spin backwards on concrete for hours to cut and make look like nothing was ever done to them. we all know whats been done over the years, now i can do it legally
