I have an 88 motor that has been filled. It seems like it wants to run hot. Any advise would be greatly appreciated

Make sure your thermostat is in working condition, or just replace it if you haven't. Found out on my M that you have to have one to slow the water down enough to cool it. Good luck!

What classes do you pull, and do you usually kill
the motor?

I am assuming you have a hole drilled in the back of the head so water flow from back to front.

Run an elec fan so you can continue to cool after you kill the motor. No pun intended.

Same for the water pump.
Add a couple drops of dishwashing liquid to break the surface tension of the water and help cooling.

Run the fuel slightly on the rich side.

I do a little maint on one with block filler, over 300 psi and we don't have any problem but try to avoid back to back pulls. We also use a friction reducing metal treatment. You might ask around or order off the internet. There are a couple products that are probably just like what I use and their brand names are Militec and another is Oil Extreme. Both are extreme pressure additives. I have not used either of these but believe they will do the same thing I use and we don't run any tractor without it.

It has no circulating water, of course it is going to get hot, don't run sideshields.
