Just wondering what a lot of you guys with Farmall H pullers are running for Tires. Mines around 90hp and Im running 15.5x38s because of the rules here locally, Are 16.9x38s to much? Ive also seen guys running 16.9 and 18.4 34s. Wanting to do alittle winter pulling this year, any suggestions?

We are running 18.4x34 firestones. Tractor dynos at 88 hp and we are spinning out in the 4000 and 4250 lb classes. Tried the 15.5's also and we really like the 18.4's.

Depending on if it has a stock geared transmission, and running a 4mph speed limit, a good set of 15.5X38 firestones on a 16 in rim will be a good combo. For an open class, (no speed limit) the 15.5X38, or a 16.9X34 works well. The 16.9s will be a slight heavier than the 15.5 when pulling a light class. At 90 hp that H would be tough in 3500 div3 and USAP modified stock 4mph, and pro stock 8 mph class. That is just my 2 cents, worked for me. ChadS

I wrench on an H with about 90 h.p.,we've ran 15.5-38 cuts,18.4-34 uncuts, and 14.9-38 cuts.they all worked good for the classes they were used in,but remember that 14.9s have a larger footprint than 15.5s have. The footprint is a little narrower but it is longer. The 14.9s are taller which is were they get the larger footprint. This will also allow you to lower the drawbar and will shift wieght to the front allowing you to put more wieghts on your rear bracket.

We are running cut 18.4 x 38 and have not had any problems on our H. I figure put the biggest tire allowed and then build an engine to turn them.

do those 18.4's hook up?....seems like the 15.5's or even 16.9's would dig better...i had 16.9's on my '39 M and only got them too hook up good in the 6500 lb class....maybe its some thing about the speed FB

The 18.4 x 38 hook up for us. More so when we pull a low chain on any tracks. Some pulls we go to use smaller sleds and they have to use a straight chain to stop the tractors, then we can have some problems on loose sandy tracks but we use speed to try to overcome it and use the momentum to push us through the trouble spots,it has been working so far. Our cleats are only about 1/2 inch tall.
