I have an LA case that is built to pull stock. when I started pulling it I could win most of the time (about 5 years ago) but I started getting beat so I build this tractor up more. Got the over bore kit and 3/16th of the head. I have ported and polished the head and manifold. I think it could be a possible winner in division 3 if I would put the right tires on it but I am afraid the rear end wont hold up to the power. I am running a worn out set of 18.4-30 on it now and would like to know what everyone thinks about going to about 18.4-34's. Just a little note...the last time I had it on a dyno it was putting out 110 horsepower.

A friend has a 505 dodge in front of a LA rear end and has only broke the chains once. And that would not of happened if he wouldn't have shifted down durring the pull.

L A Case with 4-71 Detroit Diesel engs put out somewhat more power than the gas L A engine. there are several pulling in competion withoutany problems . You could always put in new heavy drive chains to be safe. good luck. dan wc ne wyo.
