This message is similar to the one before, just need more input. Took the cab (Diamond Delux, not the long international cab) and took the loader off of my 1466. The tack will work until reaching about 2350 RPM, then flips completely horizontal, and quivers. So i have no idea how high my RPMs can go. I have done nothing with the pump, and i can pull the throttle all the way to the right, and runs smoothly at very high RPMs. Would you worry about turning the pump up, or just leaving as is, because going down the highway, in hi 4th with TA forward, i could beat any new tractor guessing they went 20-22mph, so, i guess 24-25. Now i have heard of people running low 4th or hi 1st, Personally, i think hi 1st would do good. But just want to know what other people do good in, this is the first time with this tractor, and last year did the antique with a Farmall 400, and did great. Just want something with a little more power!

Don't know what classes you are going to try to pull, their rules will TELL you what gear you have to pull in. If you are going to try the upper divisions, (3,4 or 5), just throw the entry fee money out the window of the truck, (much less work and agrivation) there is no way you will have enough ponies under the hood to compete with them even with big RPM's. Stick with division 1 or 2 where you are pulling with other "stock" tractors in first gear.
