I'm in the process of overhauling a Farmall H for a neighbor and noticed that the housing for the linkage that runs from the governor to the carb has the words "M+W power governor" cast into it. What did this item do and if it is wore out is it worth rebiulding or should I scrap it and get a reman.

Thanks in advance,

Alan

The M&W governor is a 4 fly weight governor,, It was made to maintain a consistant engine speed under a load. It is a slower operating governor, It is a good system,,, don't get me wrong,, But a 2 weight governor is a faster responding governor, and higher rpms are easier to obtain. Just my 2 cents..
