I found an ad in Green Mag for a Hiesler Head for a JD B. What is different from a stock JD head? Would this head give me more HP? I have a 1952 B with the cyclone head. Thanks!

Heisler heads were an after market product built for "A's" and "B's" in the 1945 era. They were built in Hudson Iowa (South of Waterloo Iowa) by (Harry Heisler) a private company. The heads were designed and cast to raise the compression on the old all fuel model tractors so they would burn gasoline better and more efficiently and also develop more power. The heads also had larger ports and valves and a gas manifold to match. There were two different ones for the model "A" and three different ones used for the Model "B". When installing these head above gas piston ratios this brings your compression up pretty fast. Like putting the flat head on a styled "G". Not real sure if that was where the old boy got his idea from and improved off that. Getting hard to find these heads. Good Luck, DW
