We have a Farmall M we pull in the 4500-5500 and we were wondering if there would be any advantage to going from a 14.9x38 to 16.9x34....Which one would yall choose????both on a 14 inch wide rim

Some clubs or divisions won't let you run 16.9s in 45-55. 14.9 are good pullers, I run 15.5s on 14"

All horses, the answer to your tractor is "it depends"..:-) If you are trying to get to a lower weight class the 14.9's will be lighter than the 16.9-34's. But if you are not concerned with that, the 34's are a well-kept secret as far as I'm concerned. They have almost the same height as the 14.9's, are wider giving a larger footprint (but not too big) and are much easier to find than the 14.9's (with a correspondingly lower price to find good ones). The 14.9 is an excellent tire, don't get me wrong, but the 16.9-34 is a good tire to step up to. Several of my customers are using these and really like them. Mike
