Did I get your attention?Lately many of the topics on the pulling page has revolved around many of the Deere pullers cheating by adding aftermarket components. While, I will be the first to admit that my G does contain aftermarket parts. I will be the first to point out the many vendors/parts that are avaliable to other brands. Resolution? Get over it because as the sport becomes even more popular and more second/third generation tractor owners start bringing out their dads or grandpas tractors, the parts will start showing up more and more. And for all of you BONE STOCK pullers, either your are lying or you have an exceptional tractor for being 50-60 years old. Like many of you, I have fallen victim to the "groups" or "clicks" of guys who have changed the rules to favor their buddies and their brands. Probably the MM guys have been hit the hardest by the NATPA rules with the HD800 regulations. It is fair no. Do I want to try and pull against one no. Would I like to see the rules changed, not really but I would support the rules if they did. What can you do about the groups and clicks? I quit going to their pulls but the more I think about it, I think I will go back and try it again. Let's be perfectly honest, any tractor regardless of size, hp, color, or parts built with,,, can be beat on any given day or night. It is hard to beat the rule book though. My point to my rambling is plain and simple. Can we move on from the whining and brand bashing. I like to needle the "other" guy but it gets old after awhile. One final thought. For all of the folks that think the pullers have disgraced the tractors brand/heritage by adding something non-stock or non-brand. I would honor your opinion but honor the guy who owns that tractor and his opinion to change anything as he pleases. Don't think for one minute that the 1-2 mph tractors will draw the crowds and their money. People like the traditional stock tractors but they also crave the power. Remember folks real trucks rattle!! A final, final thought. For all of you guys that have been hit in the head by your significant other, this brand war has been going on well before any after market parts were being sold. Did you ever see the shirt "Bragging Rights" Farmall M and John Deere G. Not a Lemmons M or a Schooler G The Deere is winning in that picture.
