I run a 880 Diesel and can only get down to 4600 without weight brackets. Running pressed stell all around and 15.5X38's anyone know how to get rid of a 100 or so pounds. My clubs rulls are tractor must be stock appearing and their is no tire size. The stock appearing rule doesnt really mean anything so does anyone have any ideas of how to make my tractor a little more competitive.

Are you running the lighter 66 narrow front? Gut the aluminum base for the hydraulics and machine anything out you don't need, then make a flat cover plate for it out of .093 aluminum. It will be lighter than the cast iron cover. Can you change out the factory seat suspension and pan for something lighter? The original pan and suspension are not light.

Are you still carrying around a generator or alternator? Why not get rid of it and top off your battery using a charger? Replace the fuel tank with a smaller lawn mower tank with the filler sticking through the correct location.

Check about using a gear reduction starter from a Ford 6.9 IH diesel. I believe it will fit and allow you a smaller battery.

Replace the steering shafts with aluminum rod or heavy wall tubing.

Good Luck,
A.P.

Do you have a hydraulic unit on? On my 770 I went to a 5.50 16 front tire. Only 4 ply, Firestone makes them. That help me shave off about 20 lbs over a 6.50 16 tire. Do you have the lightweight hubs on the front?? Do you have a deluxe seat or just a pan???.....Just some ideas...
