Definitely go with a gasser if the rpm's are not limited. A gasser will be way cheaper than a diesel (non turbo) Head work would be the most important place not to be cheap on. Can you run a diesel head or oem make and model only? I have to run the stock gas head and struggle to get more than 250-260 CFM Some diesels are near that stock. Next most important thing is probably cam shaft. I dont know what your budget is, but I may be able to help you a little. I have a complete gas engine I am selling to move up to Lim Prostock. Very competitive in western PA non turbo, open rpm, oem manifolds, updraft carb.

Good Luck,

Brad

How far up is "way up there"? How much do you have to spend, how long do you want it to last, what class are you pulling that may limit mods?
