JYD,, let me explain the spring and what it does. To ansewr your questions,, yes, it will idle down completely, and run any rpm you choose to set it at. All by adjusting the stop in the governor. Ok,, What the spring does, is speed up governor function. thus, speeding up carb response. = more power, when you need it. Most stock, unaltered governors will actually shut the carb down when the engine lugs and starts to stall. this spring keeps it open when you are in a severe lug, open to the end, stays open longer. The spring we have is good for up to 2600 rpm. you can set it for any rpm range you want to pull. You still have the function of the fast operation of the governor and the carb. When you pull, the difference between a farm tractor and a puller, is the difference between night and day. even compared to a stocker to a stocker. One that is stock, unaltered, against an enhanced one, big difference. Ok,, it will go from idle to the set rpm, or what ever you set the rpm range to be. Gives an average of 3 more Hp, just by instaling it. Try one if you like, it is self explanitiory. Put it in, adjust the rpm, and go pulling, if you want more hop up ideas, just ask!! One thing I say, is when you build an engine to perform, before you go borin, or strokin, start with all of the engine controls first. Governor, Carbs, ignitions, then once you get those figured out, maybe build a bigger engine. Just my opinion, ChadS
