If you want to run the stock block, and you don't want to break it everytime you run, this is what you do: 1. Use a WD45 crank, 2. use D17 4 1/8" over bore pistons, 3. use WC 4 1/8" over bore sleaves, 4. put the largest valves that will fit in the head, 5. polish the air ways in the head (does not matter if it is the high head or short head) 6. Make the bores in the manifold as large as possible, 7. polish the air ways in the manifold, 8. Use a carb from a Allis 175 if you can find one, or a D17 carb. Use a WD45 distributor and set the carb while on a dyno, 9. Use half worn 28" rear tires w/ 23 deg bars (Firestones) 10. set your draw bar as high as allowed (18"-20" ussually)11. shorten the throttle rod so the carb opens all the way. If you are setup like this, I wouldn't want to pull against you. Good Luck

With all that engine, you'll run out traction long before you run out of power. Save some time and money.
