If any of you guys could give a "wet behind the ears" guy some info on what to do to a MMGBD to make a good puller out of it, it would be appreciated. I'm Restoring it now and have heard that putting 504 blocks and using the original heads (from 425-6 D) is easy and cheap. What do you think, any other suggestions. Thanks in advance..... ..

The other replys are ok. But you can get alot more! Bore and stroke, 200hp is easy.

I had one of those with the 504 in it. I was great up to about 11000 lbs , then gearing was to high. The heads you have will work , I think you would be better off with a newer style head, they should be higher compression , spend some time opening up the ports with the valves removed. Change the pump drive to the roosa master style and find a roosa and lineset. Get a g 1000 intake and exhaust . Have the pump calibrated to G 1000 specifications and adjust fuel about 15% more. This combo is good for about 120 hp, also change the cam to a 1000 cam. I have a 990 oliver still that I pull and it never would handle the old mo. One problem I had at first the fuel was set to high and it was smothering out. Good Luck
