Whos the chicken S that wont sign their own name to their comments, Because Dennis Craft did not write this , He is interested in having a good time ,not trying to cause trouble like you are, And also the 855 cummins came out of a 9170 international tractor. Do youe home work

Yes I was their also, I did have the opportunity to speak with John Lampkin of the USAP on Sat. He is a very fine business man and does have his pullers at heart, which is great.I am also a puller in the farmers class.I never did have enough money to build something fast ,but I do a fair job of building something that runs ,put a car wash paint job on it and go.and have done good enough to place first in a class of 14 and be in the hook, picture and all. but on the concerned part the 5500 open at fruitland sunday, That was not a USAP pull but 2 tractors registered as a 1959.1 a 1960, This year is not legal with usap ,but I have seen them pull. 1 moline,1 massey . Those of you who know John Lampkin well, bring this to his attention because these 2 tractors do pull some usap pulls ,the 1959 is against the rules, one need to obey all rules or none

3000 plus RPMS out of a 600 CASE is not a lot of RPMS? When everyone understands he has a 855 Cummins on gas in a 600 CASE chassis, he won't be pulling anywhere. I was told he won that class just like an 88 Oliver won the 5000 open (track was very wet/slick early on), EXCEPT the 88 Oliver actually has a Waukesha and not a 855 Cummins! USAP won't let him pull either!

USAP won't let an Oliver 88 pull with a Waukesha engine?

Yes the USAP will let you pull with a waukesha engine in an 88, they will NOT let you pull with a 855 Cummins truck motor converted to gas pull in a 600 Case chassis though! I stayed to see both the 5500 and 6500 lb. open classes run and I'd put them head and shoulders above anywhere else in the country in terms of competition. The 6500 was really entertaining as Begeman's G-6 and Bewley's 705 Minnie both made full pulls twice before they decided there wasn't enough sled there to stop them! One side note though: Begeman was running 2200 rpms (30%) and Bewley was running unlimited rpms(where the rules state 30%). I would recommend to the promoters of fruitland to maybe look into getting a tach for next years pull and a larger sled if they hope to stop such powerful machines.

USAP pretty much lets you runs anything, as long as you go under the speed, and even they won't allow 855 cummins in a 600 CASE. What's next, rolls royce engines in my B JD? Every club has their problems; who wants Cummins/Detroits/Cats in antiques (hmmmmm , 3208 CAT in an 88??)

I'm glad to see tha the Case/Cummins repower did get done. I knew that it was being put together for a while and obviously he done a great job with it. He sure has everyone whinning. That 855 sure beats the heck out of that over priced, underpowered, water dripping case engine that he had. I wonder who built that? If anyone talks to dennis in the next few days, congradulate him on a job well done!! Maybe everyone will use their heads and put a little bit of thought into their tractors instead of letting their emotions outweight the butt-whipping they recieve. Just my .02

Chads, you are right, I thought that the water drain cock was standard equipment on the case motor. The 855 cummins repower will run forever, without a drain in the pan.

Mechanic, if you are talking to Chads, he hasn't even commented! (duh!) Cody don't know nothing! The motor came from out east coast, a Wenztler (?) who had it built out there before he built an rpms turner! Glad they can sit on their 600 all summer in the shed and think of the one time the blind squirrel found the acorn, cause it'll be tough to find even a brush pull that'll let them run this cobbled up thing. If you had 100 horsepower and 2 inch lug height, you could have easily won the 5500 open yourself! The funniest thing was the Cummins Case couldn't even start the sled due to its clutch being so cobbled. Then when he backed up and tried again, it would slip just enough to hold his tires down the track. It was the strangest thing, which fits in with that setup. I heard that there's a VAC with an M11 Cummins now going together (same principle boys!). 66 Olivers with Detroits will rock, too!

Yes ,It did appear the clutch was slipping or some mechanical problem. But it was the best operating tractor in the whole class, right down the track, no jerking or bucking, cant say much thou for the idot on the massey, looked like a 3rd grade driving school would be helpful to him

I can't wait to watch YOU put on a driving class if it looks so easy! The amount of weight they had to stack on the pan and the track appears to have made a weird situation. Racker's 88 could have easily won that 5500 also if he hadn't let throttle kick back. He was carrying enough weight in the right spots and gears slower to get the tires to hook. When people were DROPPING 2 gears just to try to get tires/tractor to go straight, that tells you what was happening.

The piont is, He beat everything else in the class, and everyone else had to go home without the trophy that was in Dennis' truck. Maybe if you had a cummins in your tractor(Code Red) you could have won a class too! BOO HOO, the river is running!

I thought that the Case had a good pull. It seems to me that he did a good job since he atleast went down the track straight. Could the other pullers been able to handle the power since they could not get the rides that they had to go down the track straight? Just a thought.....

I dont understand why it is ok to put a RD 501 into a 460,560,w-40 farmall and its not ok for the cummins in the case? both are truck engines, both were never used in a tractor.so what is the difference.or is it just a farmall sport!!
