Has anyone tried to put .045 over 70 lp pistons into an unstyled A block? I know the cylinder wall can get thin with the std bore but how bout .045 overs. Dont want to have to scrap the block because of hitting water.

Think about it, the A piston std bore is 5-1/2 and std bore 70 pistons are 5-7/8,and you're thinking of putting 5-7/8+.045 that equals 5.8795 and that is .375 overbore for the A block,There's not that much meat there

saw an a that had been bored to 6", no sleeving. Ran awsome and sounded so tough..... for the 15 seconds that it ran till it blew a hole in the side of the sleeve! If you're gonna spend money on sleeving, start with a power block and then sleeve it .

I tried in a 41 block. Went through, and resleeved it. good choice of pistons! the compression height is a bit different I think, but still usable. Chad
