antique tractor pulling=low rpms=need large cubic inch engines(more than just a set of pistons) there is no substitute for cubic inches. guess what? cubic inches need lots of cubic dollars.there is no substitute for cubic dollars unless you have your own machine shop. but you still need cubic inches. do you understand this simple formula

Remember, the power to weight ratio. Moveable weight also can affect things. Lots of variables.

Sorry cousin, but large cube, custom built motors are for people who don't know how to maximize the cubes they have. Now, I'm not sticking up for Chads pistons, because it takes all the other stuff, "cam, carb, head, etc etc..." to go with it, but with the right set up, yes 80hp is possible, no doubt about it. So tell me, Mr 820, do you design and build all your motors?? Just wondering. I'll bet you don't. I run small cube motors in my tractors, and I win the majority of the hooks against the stroker A's and G's in my area, the trophies are on the wall to prove it. I'm not trying to start a war with you, "you seem to already be involved in one!" but I'm just telling you that your idea on cubes is not correct, sorry but the truth hurts! But hey, I'm sure I don't know anything either, Huh????? ????

820 puller lives in the real world. Chad sounds like he has been at the bar too long before every post. Talk to any good antique tractor engine builder and he will tell you same as 820puller says big cubes and long sroke are what it takes to make power. Small engines win once in a great while but the big ones always seem to dominate.

i don't pull antique but i can tell you your theory has problems, their are too many variables that are left out.
the ability for the engine to breathe is more important than extra cubes, what is the rpm limit?if none the smaller engine can turn more and last better doing it and rpm is the fastest way to improve hp.where is your proof that he is wrong?i don't know the guy at all,but i'm not blind and if you have not bought anything from him then you really don't know.
if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

At the KOH pull in Tunica Miss a legal div 3 IH M won over those big cubed tractors, so it can be done.

all depends on the cubes, with a G i believe it is possible as they had a load of cubes in stock form.a good high swirl piston would make a big difference.

they told me i wouldn't be able to catch the big bore engines at the brush pulls with 436ci,but it sure does.
