I had something happen to me yesterday I want to share with you all. I was chaning tires on the 460H, and I had the jack stable, and one rear wheel off, I swapped the 18.4 to 15.5, and was letting the axle down to catch the rim to align it, and all of a sudden, boom, the tractor was on the ground. I was right beside it, and actually knocked me backwards. I was fortunate, but very lucky as well. I thank God that I was not injured, it scared the crap out me!! So just some words of advice, be carefull when working on your puller. Accidents can happen, even to a seasoned person. Be careful fellow pullers! it aint no fun pulling with a cast on, or not make it through at all! ChadS

Mistakes happen, accidents are planned! LOL! Glad to hear you are OK Chad. Seems we all do things we know better than. How many times I have let off a bottle jack or floor jack only to have it go all the way to the bottom before I could snug up the screw again to stop it. Keep them fingers and toes out of the way when jacking and be ready to run. It is when we forget to expect the unexpected that the unexpected happens. <<< Confused one say >>>>>

had an 8640 up on a jack and blocked up as well. Repairing the left rear inner tire. Darn thing articulated on me while my left arm was in the tire peeling the tube out. Shoulda ruined my arm but just ended up on some anti-inflamatory drugs for a few days to get the swelling down. was quite a wake-up call. glad to hear you made out ok

Glad to hear you're okay, and that you got lucky. Regardless of how good the jack is or how long you're going to be supporting the tractor with it, you should ALWAYS have a jackstand under it for backup. And even then it's still dangerous. I saw a guy nearly get crushed by a New Holland 9480 4wd once. The jackstand it was on was rated for the weight, but must have been faulty and it peeled apart like a banana. The guy had a streak of blue paint on his shirt where the front frame grazed him on it's way to the floor.
