Any one ever mess with a Ford 6.9 diesel? Dad bought a 93 F-350 with a 6.9 in it, I don't think it is the original engine in it, anyway, it was run out of fuel, and never restarted, it needs to be bled, should I loosen the lines on the injectors and crank it over for a short time till fuel gets there? or is there a better way? Never worked on one ,so I am lost. Are the 6.9 a decent engine? A former boss had one in a dually, and seemed to run pretty good. Truck has a 5 speed in it. Any help would be great! Thanks ,,ChadS

Well,, I got it running, bad fuel pump. It sounds pretty tight still. Not much smoke out the pipe. The clutch seems to be dragging, It has a very loose pedal in the cab, and the slave cyl is pretty good, and has still quite a bit of travel in it, it seems like the pedal rod going to the clutch master cyl is wrong, or bad master cyl. It starts up pretty quick, not a bad ol truck, do you remeber that old red 80 ford F-350 we had years back? had "Marv's Tires" on the side. LOL. for an older truck, it paid for itself, many trips down to Hartford KY with that ol Ford. Maybe this one will be good too. Good to hear from you Anglemeyer! Chad

That 93 should be a 7.3! I had a 93 7.3 the clutch rod was plastic and the eye broke out of the pedal end. When I went to replace it I found the master cylinder and slave was for a F150/302. Ford had four differant systems and you might find any of them in any vehicle no matter what engine.

Yeah, I know it should be a 7.3, It must have blown up along the line, and replaced with a 6.9. Sure enough, it was plastic!! I went and got one that is steel, and it works! I drove it around a bit today, drives and runs pretty good. Got some wiring work to do, and look around for a bed, or look into building one. I would like to set it up like a mobile home totor, or have the long tool boxes down the sides like our old 80 did. Chad
