JD G Block and Cyclone Head?

How much can you shave off the face of a JD G block and the cyclone head before the valves hit the pistons? I'm using High Compression M&W type Aluminum pistons. I was told that .050" off the block and .050" off the head would make it equivalent to a flat head, both power wise and compression wise. Any thoughts? Thanks for the help.

you can safely take .250 off the head. That still will be no camparison to a flat head. Shave that off, with high compresion pistons, depending on how well you can tune & tweek, get about 50-55 hp.

I know you can take .050 off the block, but if you take off the head you can go more then .125...maybe you can go .200....I don't know for sure, but we took an A head to .145 off....and a G is heaftyier(sp) so you should be able to take more off....
