There is a casting difference between them in the combustion chamber. There is 2 heads with the 8043 part number, 8043d and 8043dd. The d is the older head, and the dd is the newer version, then it goes in to the 300-350 casting numbers. There is a difference in the 8043d, and the 8043dd, and the 300-350 heads. it is the compression chamber, the newer heads,, were desiged for firecrater pistons, and have a slight indention along one side of the chamber, to make room for the higher dome on the piston. Also, the intake runners on the dd and the 300-350 are a bit larger than the 8043d. The H block can handle the C-175 sleeves easily. It will have plenty of block left, just watch the ring on the top of the sleeves, for the H block will have to be bored for that diameter of sleeve, or simply machine the ring of the sleeve down,, so the H block will be stronger yet. Use the 175 head gasket for the larger bore, instead of the H, it has a larger bore in the fire ring in the gasket. If you just put the engine together, no milling of the head, and fire craters,, if that is what they offer for piston selection. Also the super H and 350 manifold and carb, carb would have to be tuned to get the fuel right,, 50-53 hp at 540. Lp head would be a bit stronger, but alot of $$$, You could probably go out and plow with it all day long as far as reliability is concerned. Hope this helps. ChadS
