Did a bit better,, still no traction, no balance, even at 6000lbs, spun it out!! got 9th place. The big Deere, done well in the heavy class. Lots of high hp pullers there, there was a "White" or at least looked like one,, very strong, then my favorite one was a 180 AC, turbo charged, awesome sounding tractor when it revved up, if he had a bit better tires on it, would be a serious contender down the road,, hope to see them all again at one of the deadweight pulls later on, the pull started at 1 pm, I got home at 4 am the next morning! We was shaking windows of the houses with the ol Deere! LOL ChadS

I must say I am impressed. What is the old Deere? Was this blacktop deadweight? That Allis sound neat-o! Were you the only yellow there?

730 gas JD. Yep on blacktop. There was one other ZB there, he did pretty good. The set up on my Z just was not right, it zigged, when it should have zagged,, LOL Needs to be heavier, and a few more weights behind the rear end for a counter balance. Plenty of power, not enough traction or balance. Chad

I would like to see a blacktop pull sometime. I guess it is a different ball of wax. I have tried to pull a stump with the rear tires on my M-M GBD on cement. Just spun. Worked better when I lengthened the chain and got off in the dirt. Guess I needed slicks huh. That tractor is a beast.

You betcha the gbd is a monster!! you have to be able,, (when unhooked from the sled) to put it in the pulling gear you pull in, kinda pop the clutch, and be able to jump the front end up in the air. if it dont, you spin, and sit still. It is a whole different game that transfer pulls, but, the balance you learn from the deadweight pulls, works a bit in the transfer pulls too. The Z,, it is heavy on the nose for dead weight pullin,, I am buildin a new weight bar a bit further back on the rear end as a counter balance, to get the front light. Kinda goes against all the thoughts of safety,, but when it is right,, it looks like poetry in motion, smooth ride, full pull!! With the seat on my Z, like the U,, sits way back behind the tires,, on a long bracket,, it is like riding a seesaw!! LOL ChadS
