Any JD R pullers out there. Can any of you guys tell me how light the model R can be made? I have seen 830"s in the 6500 and I know the R is 700lbs. lighter. Could it be possible to get one down to 5500lbs? Tactor in process, just wondered if anyone could answer my question.

Roger Marlin (2-Cyl Diesel Shop) had one at 6000lb. That's all just stripping can do. 5500lb is possible with fabricated front-end, radiator, and axles.

Go heavier. You get it down to 5500 and you will have less than a light hopped up G.

I was not planning any major engine work. So as for the hopped up "G", I will not have the fuel consumption problem. Besides, the competition is better in the 5500-6500lbs. classes than in the heavier classes in my area.
