Like the Nut said earlier, if you don't increase the cubes, the bigger valve may end up hurting you (reduces the speed of the air coming into the cylinder - worse mixing and turbulance).

Probably the biggest questions are...

1. How much do you want to spend? (to pay $10 hook fee to win that $17 trophy)
2. What class do you want to pull in?
3. What is it that you really want out of the tractor?

You probably wont gain much with the bigger valves in that low of a compression (and small cid) engine... and may even lose some on the bottem end.. You will gain a little compression with the donuts.. but you would be much happier with the just the high compression AL pistons... You could also use the mid series of A cranks and gain a little cid, and a little more compression.. This is all for a stock style tractor... Good Luck,

The late AL piston will work without any problems.. I would try Henrich Repair or Triple G for the pistons... If you get the the mid year crank it will just be: a take one out, install the other.. The late A crank will work, but you will have to change some stuff.. Easiest to just find the mid year crank.. After thinking about the valves.... I think the early A's had smaller valves... you could setup a little... if you are going to change a few things.. the Hiesler heads used 70G valves.. I wouldn't go bigger, unless you are going to stroke it.. Good Luck

Yes the old rods will work.. but I recommend find a set of inset rods from an A or 60... not sure how long the babbit will last at the increased compression... JDGnut
