I have DLTX 18 carb what can I do to it myself to modify it some

You could open up the venturi a little to give yourself some more air. However, depending on what kind of rules you have, I'd find either a dltx 71 (late A gas) or dltx 51 (big nut G). Both are a step up from the 18, with the G carb being the biggest. While they can get spendy, depending on the cubes you have, they will be plenty of carb. Also, should you ever decide to go back to a stock setup, you have your original carb yet, and you will never lose value on a good 71 or 51 carb!
