I would like to build an R puller. I saw in another post that you had one that ran good. Is there anything you can tell me about this build that would help me with mine. How much power did you get out of it? How light do you think an R can be made? Thanks for any help you can give me.

52A, pretty much it comes down to time and money, as with any pulling project. There are several options you can go with on the R, as far as boring, fuel, air, etc. The lightest I ever had mine was around 7000#. You can go down to 6500 with a little more work, and still look close to factory. There are several around that are in this weight range. My R never seemed to hook up good until 9600, but it all depends on the track, etc. I have heard 97hp out of one before, my pto drive started popping at 82, and I was not down to the rated rpm yet, I was close to it, but it still had room. If you want drop me a line, garry.power@navarrocollege.edu, and we can discuss further.
