Looking for a roller bearing puller that works on a JD 70 gas to remove the roller bearing on the end of the camshaft so I can remove the cam from the motor. JD and IT manual show a puller similar to a power steering pulley puller but we tried that and the bearing is too large for the puller. Anyone pulled a camshaft bearing off a JD 70 or a G. What type of puller did you use?

I cut the cage that holds the rollers, take the rollers and cage out then there is enough room to remove the cam. Then I use the press to remove the rest of the bearing on the cam.

Do you have to drop the crank to get the camshaft out with the gear still on the cam? I have the block off the main case now and was hoping to remove the cam without going to the extra work of dropping the crank down. Thanks for you help.

I think you have to remove the cam gear thats why I cut the bearing cage off. If you have the rods out you maybe able to get the cam out. It's been awhile since I worked on my 70 and G
