Chad,I appreciate the e-mail.I got a couple more questions though, first you talked about Chevy distributor springs can they be bought at any auto store or does it have to be Jegs or Summit?Second I read the article about Super-M pistons and you said you make pistons, can you make a set of 3-3/4 domes for a 560?It is a 263 with the overbore kit stock stroke, sleeves look good it hadn't been long since it was over hauled. Thanks Eric S Farmallpuller@peoplepc.com

Also, just a note, I tore down a 706 the other day, (263 gas) found some cracked piston skirts in it, all 6 actually. if you got the head off, and can get a ring set, I would check them out, After seeing that, Im tearing the pistons out of my 460 to see if that is something in common in these engines,,,,, , ChadS

NAPA, Advance Auto parts, Jegs, Summit will have them. I make high domes for the 263 3-9/16 bore. Best piston for that is the high altitiudes, or the LP pistons or combine the 2 options. Good tuned up 291 can make 90 hp, thats makes a pretty stout 560 in farm stock classes for a heavy, low gear puller. these are engines that utilize rpm to make better power, more you wind them, the better they like it. 3000 rpm or less would be a good setup. Just have to tune the engine to have a lug on it, at the higher rpms,,, rather at 540,, the longer you can hold the rpms in this engine, the better they get, they dont like to lug real hard under 2000 rpm,, ChadS
