The 450 is moving right along on schedule! Today, I got the block all ready! New sleeves installed, stroker crank installed, head studs installed, now still scraping old gaskets off the timing covers. Cleaning, cleaning cleaning!! The head is being checked, and any nessisary work done to put it back to up to snuff. Not milling the head on this one, I dont think it will need it. The engine was in pretty good shape on this one. If things go smoothly, should have the short block done tommorrow, waiting for new clutch disk,, hope to have it back in the tractor by friday! Like I said, 306 cubes, 4-1/8 X 5-3/4, 11 to 1 compression. Should have some real good torque! More later,,, ChadS

I got the block together today, I was looking at the flame path across the piston. The domes turned out to be .585 tall from .000 deck height at TDC. The flame path on the piston was .350 deep, and there was a shade under .370 between the compression chamber ceiling, and the highest part of the dome. It should have plenty of flame travel access to burn all the way across the piston. It will have 2 paths, between the domes, and above the domes. Not much different than a stock design stepped head, or M&W. The short block is almost done, the head can be set on, with out a head gasket and turned over with out hitting, It spins over very nicely, not difficult to turn by hand. the domes could have been bigger if I had offset the wrist pins, but left them alone. Rear main seal in on, timing plate, and cam is in it. 3 pistons are done and installed in the block, #4 was done but not installed yet. Was cold out today,,, gave up for the nite. ChadS
