I had the head reworked, grind vavles, And the had the head plain, and cut 50 thousands off the head. Now while installing the pistons I notice that the piston comes all the way to the top.. Did I mess up by taking off the 50 thousands off the head?

With the mild valve timing, chnaces of whacking a valve agaist a piston is nil with just a 50 thou cut. What is the deck height with those LP pistons ?

I check the head and piston and it should clear by about 1/2 inch. I didnot have the head at home yesterday, But when I saw the raised portion of the piston sticking out of the block it look bad, The raised portion sticks out about 3/8 inch and the well in the head at the shallow end is 1 1/8 inch. Thanks Ben
