I have a set of 34" wheels that has the center all the way to one side that I need to move to the center. They are plug welded instead of having rivets how do you get these a part without ruining the wheel are the center

I did like JDnut did only I twisted my centers a little to cover up the holes as much as possible that way you dont have so much to "fill" in. I used a plasma cutter to get mine out, only first I drilled a hole at each end of the weld, that way you know where you have to cut for sure and its easier on the plasma cutter tips.

i cut those out all the time, cut from the outside in so all the slag is on the inside of the center. but if you are interrested i have some wheels and centers already apart that was welded in, 15in and 18in.

I have done the same thing as flyin Farmall and it worked fine. We cut just asmuch as needed to make it move with the hammer and welded it back up. It went much smoother that I would have thought. We used a plasma cutter.

just cut the spot welds with a torch or plasma cutter, then weld up the holes! Simple as pie.

730, You will probably end up cutting both.. or at least damaging the rim... they weld up easy... When you move the center turn the center around and you might be able to weld the center back into the same location.. (only dished in) this will hide some of the defects... JDGnut
