I hear ya. Ive drag raced for a few years myself, and the only racing they run is ET bracket racing. where the time will beat you instead of the other car crossing the line first, they intended on the cars crossing the line at the same time, or close to it, from the runs the drivers have dialed their cars into the specific time they set up to run. Thats why they left the rules kida open for these types of events, and just put a time rule on them instead of putting a 750 hp chevelle against a chevette with a 4 cyl. Now,, dodge omni's are a different story,,, LOL! I had a S-10 with a 400 small block in it, first time at the track, and I thought my S-10 was bad,,, till I lined up against that little onmi. Man, he was gone! Like Montgomery Gentry before I got out of low gear. Went back and talked to him after that, Asked him,,,, WHAT????? ??? No way,,, till he lifted the hood,,, 2.2l 4 cyl with twin turbo's and a 5 speed! NOS, etc etc,, and running street classes. He educated me on how ET racing worked, and the next time we raced, the next weekend, I edged him out by running with the rules, instead of going out and trying to race heads up. Kinda like percentage pulling,,, the rules are a bit different, but still, has a way of showing a winner in each class. I dont consider it backing up,, or have to swap rules to compete, rules have not changed much to determine outcomes,, just do what we do best, and use some math,, and see what happens. Most, who do get beat in percentage pulling get so ticked off, cause they dont understand it,, but,, when they do get it together, and use the rules to their favor, they do come out on top and beat the underdogs,,, and it had nothing to do with fuels, or color,, it came down to which tractor pulled the most weight, for the weight of the tractor itself.
